As It Springs, Let It Bounce You Into Action

As it springs from faith, let it bounce you into obedience.
Words Of Knowledge:

The Bible recognises no faith that does not lead to obedience, nor does it recognises any obedience that does not spring from faith.

                              A.W. Tozer

"Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteous unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God"
                      Romans 6:13

We were not saved by righteous works but we were saved unto righteous works. We were not saved by good works, but we were saved as a peculiar people zealous of good works. A. W. Tozer opined further on obedience that springs from faith, and faith that leads to obedience, as two sides of the same coin. Hear him: "Were we to split a coin edgewise we would destroy both sides and render the whole thing valueless"
My take? Both faith and obedience must work hand in hand like both sides of a currency note. If any offers a trader a currency note blank at the other side, he will politely decline it, keep his goods, and let the other man keep his awkward currency note. Any obedience that springs not from faith in Christ Jesus, is a mere religious rite and duty that seeks to establish one's own righteousness by works.
And any faith without the attendant fruits of righteousness and uprightness to show for it, is empty confession.
In a church assembly, even mine own assembly, this month of April, the prophetic word is:- "in the days of famine, I shall satisfied" Psalm 37:19.
But I can't but be bemused at the hidden charges in verse 18:- "The Lord knoweth the days of the UPRIGHT....."!!
What then shall we do?
Simple. Start the journey by faith, continue the journey by obedience. Even implicit obedience from the heart, to God's commandments.
But you need to  start the journey first. And the starting point is by faith. Faith in Christ Jesus, is it. A faith that humbles himself like a child and believe in Christ Jesus, then goes a step further to accept Him as Lord and Saviour.
