As I stared into the cold, steely eyes of the man who had promised to love me, my mother’s words came rushing back to me; “How can the son be any different?  Everything he learned about being a man, he learned from his father.”

 

Claudette was just beginning to get her life on track again after her dream for the perfect life had been shattered.  She hopes that her tumultuous past is behind her, but soon discovers she is wrong. Things get worse when she is forced to return to the life that caused her so much pain.  Nothing could prepare her for the price she would pay to be free. There is no one to turn to.  Only God can help her now.  Set in the early 80’s, A Promise to Love is the story of a young woman who would live to regret her decision to ignore her mother’s warning.
